About Us :

Friends of Hendricks Park is a membership-based 501(c)(3) organization, committed to stewardship and restoration in Hendricks Park. We currently have approximately 300 members who support the Friends.

Friends of Hendricks Park participate in public/private partnerships with the City of Eugene’s Parks & Open Spaces department. FoHP also sponsors lectures and tours in the Park, in addition to other educational programs with elementary students in Eugene.

Sandra and Fred Austin, plus Joan Kelley and David Moon were part of a group of local residents that founded the Friends of Hendricks Park in 2001. All four of these folks continue to serve on the FoHP Board of Directors. Since FoHP’s inception, they have seen many positive changes to the Park, from forest restoration, to garden maintenance improvements, to an increase in volunteer commitments, resulting in Hendricks Park being more beautiful than ever.
